New books
The CenterForLit Book Club is all about reading for pleasure and pure enjoyment. This course is about heart-stopping, tear-jerking page-turners! Books like The Princess Bride, Murder on the Orient Express, and The Giver will ignite a love of reading in your students. Along the way, they will also pick up on our exclusive method for discussing stories that will enrich their reading life for the rest of their days no matter their future calling or career. This class will help us make life long readers of even the most reluctant students!
New rules
The CenterForLit Book Club comes with no strings attached – no essays, no tests, no required writing of any kind. Students can participate aloud in our live discussion or chat with classmates and teachers, but they are not required to submit assignments. The only requirement is that they read each title completely before coming to class. We’ll give them techniques for effective reading beforehand, and provide complete discussion notes and class recordings afterward. All the students have to do is show up and enjoy themselves!
Same great results
At CenterForLit, we’ve been showing students how to get the most out of classic literature for years. Using our Socratic techniques for reading and discussion, CenterForLit alumni have gone on to succeed at the best colleges in the world. Now our Book Club makes those same lessons available to all students, regardless of their academic aspirations.
